I've gone back and forth on whether or not I like Valentine's Day. I think you should make it a point to show your love for your friends, family or partner every day, not just one day of the year. It's also not very fun if your single and it just highlights the fact even more. But I also love that there's a whole day devoted to showing love, so since that day is today, I thought I would touch on something a little different...self-love.

I truly believe you can't love someone else until you love and are happy within yourself, even though that sounds so cliche. It's something I struggle with + still have to work on, but I'm getting better on being kinder to myself. There is so much pressure to be perfect in our world and that can be toxic. It is for me a lot of the time. I want everything to be perfect and I get anxiety and start spiraling downhill in my mind if it's not. I have to remove myself from that sometimes and remind me not to be so hard on myself. Easier said than done, but I'm learning.

Taking a few minutes a day to meditate, making a cup of tea + putting on a face mask, or just turning my phone off and listening to music are a few small ways I calm and settle my mind. I can't stress how important I believe self-care is + something that should not be excluded from your life. I want to challenge you to do sometime nice for yourself today! Happy Valentine's Day!
