Concert Ready OOTD + NYC Thoughts

Hey everyone! I hope your week was good! I'm in NYC at the moment but thought I would pop in with a little outfit post today. For anyone who doesn't know, my job is in New York and I travel back and forth. Any time I come back to the city, I get a little more ready to move here full time. From the endless list of things to do to the creative people to meet to the infinite amount of beautiful cobblestone streets to explore, there is no such thing as boredom here. It is easy to be lonely here, however. You live to work (and kind of have to to be able to make rent), so socializing sometimes has to be put on the back burner. But you have to weigh out the positives and the negatives, obviously, when making a huge life decision like moving away from home. Charleston life is easy, simple, and quiet. It's nice being able to work in the city and then retreat back to the quiet life Charleston offers. I am just getting to the point where I don't feel challenged in Charleston. I feel like my mindset, style, and lifestyle is a little more lined up with NYC at this point in my life. Basically, I'm just putting it out there that my goal for this year is to move back up to NYC. I'm hoping that putting that goal on my blog gives me a bit of accountability.

To say this outfit is not your typical Charleston outfit would be an understatement. I am obsessed with it though! I told my friend I was with at the time that I felt like I should be heading to an angsty boy band concert haha. Throwing on a black leather mini skirt and my favorite pair of boots definitely has a way of giving your attitude a little boost. For me, I love finding a way to make an edgy outfit a bit more feminine and wearable for the daytime.

Thank you for reading and keep a look out for my New York City photo diary! I had a bit more free time this trip so I was able to get some photos around the city!
